  Saw Dr. Franklin on the 1st of November (today is 17 Nov) and he recommended Synvisc shots for both knees (series of 3 shots over 3 weeks. He told me that pre-approval from my insurance was needed and that I would hear back in about a week. Ok, seems fair. I mean, I'm hurting but I get that paperwork has to be done. 2 weeks later I start calling his office for status and over the course of the week leave 3 messages that are never returned (even though the recording says all calls returned in 24 hours). At the same time I'm trying to reach them I'm calling my insurance company who tell me they have never received a request. FINALLY, after getting angry and emotional with Dr. Franklin's office, I am transferred to Sandra who says that I didn't need preapproval for this procedure and that she'd sent the paperwork over to Dr. Franklin's staff on the 9th. She puts me on the phone with Shannon who sets my appointments up...December being the first opportunity. This has NOT been a good experience so far and I am concerned about going forward with this provider!! However, I realize SportsMed could care less if they lose a patient. I wish I could give Sandra 5 Stars because she is my hero in getting this goat rope straightened out. Had I not been a pain to them who KNOWS when I would have heard back, probably never!

  I love Dr Franklin and his staff! They are kind, caring and willing to help. Dr. Franklin really cares about his patients, he breaks things down and makes sure you understand exactly whats going on and the best treatment plan. I would highly recommend Dr. Franklin and his staff!!
